Vacuum Carburizing quenching
Gas carbonization in general causes a softened layer on the surface and that could especially be a disadvantage to the metal fatigue. So, carbonization in a vacuum (low pressure) will decrease the chance of getting softened layers. In addition to that, because carbonization in high temperature can be possible, it takes a shorter amount of time and it is favourable for deeper carbonization parts.
